Small farm house plans designed to grow with you reflect a longstanding farmstead tradition.  Historically, farmhouses often began as modest gabled dwellings that expanded over time as the family -- and its resources -- grew.  It is in this tradition the farm style cottages from Perfect Little House Company are presented here. 

Home plans from the Bainbridge Island, Washington firm offer flexibility in size, layout and location (i.e., for rural, urban and suburban lots).  Compatible in style, many of the designs can be mixed and matched (i.e., combined) as your family -- and spatial requirements -- evolve.

Two designs from the Perfect Little House Company, the "Cove" and "Azalea," unite to form a strikingly picturesque composition (below).  The connecting structures feature metal-clad gable roofs punctuated by through-the-cornice shed dormers.  Hip roof porches with gently tapered posts embrace the front and side.

The Cove

With 1,802 square feet of living area on two levels (excluding bonus space over garage), the "Cove" is well suited for a vibrant, growing family.  The main level features an open floor plan which extends the entire width of the home, allowing
the kitchen, living and dining areas to flow seamlessly into one another.

Level 1 (above):  924 sq. ft.

Nestled beneath the dormered roof on Level 2 are two bedrooms, full bath, and a master suite.  The bonus space over the garage can be used as a guest room, home office, or teen retreat.

Level 2 (above):  878 sq. ft.

The Azalea

The "Azalea" is a compact design with 768 square feet on two levels.  Ideal as a starter cottage, it can grow with you, as shown in the photo at top of page.

The main level consists of a single car garage and enclosed stairway leading to an upper level studio.  Large double hung windows and efficient spatial arrangement make the second level living area seem larger than its 384 square foot plan might suggest.

The Alder Cottage Three

The "Alder Cottage Three" packs a lot of living into 1,071 square feet of space.  A front facing gable with shed roof dormers, porch, and bracketed side entrance lend farm house charm.

Level 1 features an open floor plan that runs the length of the cottage, with living, dining, and kitchen areas flowing, uninterrupted, from front to back.

Level 1 (above):  512 sq. ft.

Upstairs, tucked beneath the gable ends and between wide dormers, are two bedrooms and a full bath.

Level 2 (above):  465 sq. ft.

The Cherry Three

An expanded version of the "Alder Cottage Three" above, the "Cherry Three" plan includes the addition of a wing -- nearly doubling the living space on Level 1.

Housed within the wing is a spacious master bedroom suite with walk-in closets, dual vanity sinks, and separate tub and shower.  Two bay windows -- one of which serves as a bathtub nook -- allow plenty of natural light inside.  An enclosed breezeway with laundry and storage closets connects the private master suite to the public living areas.

Level 1 (above):  1,463 sq. ft.

The upper level floor plan is identical to that of "Alder Cottage Three," with two bedrooms and a full bath.

Level 2 (above):  465 sq. ft.
