A guest cottage in South Carolina draws its inspiration from an 1860s plantation smokehouse. Designed by Historical Concepts, the single level structure features a central block with hip roof flanked by lean-tos. A combination of shiplap and board and batten siding clads the exterior walls while standing seam copper covers the roof. Details such as sliding barn doors, window shutters and a cupola add character and charm.
